Ruai Family Hospital has picked its director of human resources Nicholas Kaweru CEO in acting capacity following the transition of Dr Maxwel Okoth to Group Managing Director.
The announcement was made by the hospital in a notice affirming that Kaweru’s appointment takes place immediately.
“The Board of Ruai Family Hospital (RFH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Nicholas Kaweru as Acting Chief Executive Officer of RFH Healthcare with effect from January 9, 2023,” the notice reads in part.
Kaweru has previously served in the human resources field at a local bank between 2008 and 2014 before taking up the headship of talent and organisation development at Rafiki Microfinance Bank from 2015 to 2021.
“Mr Kaweru brings a wealth of experience in people management and we are confident he will be a strong leader for the company,” said the company secretary Philip Onyango.
Dr Okoth announced his exit from the day-to-day operations of the facility on Sunday saying that he will continue to be part of the business from the board level.
He founded the institution in 2011 and has served as CEO since 2012 during which time the hospital has grown from a one-bedroom apartment to a chain of nine establishments today.
The hospital is widely known for its maternity programme that offers services to under-served communities at low costs.
