Plus: Texas men’s basketball earns a preseason ranking
It’s been a rough few days since the Texas Longhorns fell to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater. By all means, it was a winnable game for Texas, but the team’s penalties would imply otherwise. Essentially, Texas still has a lot to clean up to have success throughout the remainder of the 2022 regular season.
That was head coach Steve Sarkisian’s message following the loss.
“Okay, so couple things here from today’s game that I think were obviously glaring stats — 14 penalties to none. We can’t get 14 penalties for 120 yards in just pure yardage — not to mention the yardage that you lose in positive plays, that those plays get pulled back — and they have zero, so we’ve got to clean that up,” Sarkisian said, according to 247Sports. “We’ve got to clean up the self-inflicted wounds in that aspect of the ballgame.
