The fundraising led by Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), for a total amount of 250 million euros, was carried out with historical investors of Innovafeed as well as new strategic and financial investors. InnovaFeed is the leader in the production of sustainable insect-based ingredients (Hermetia Illucens) for animal and plant nutrition.
The financing will support the company’s international expansion by increasing production capacity in France through the continued expansion of its Nesle site in northern France and in the United States with the construction of a new production plant in Decatur, Illinois. This financing will also allow InnovaFeed to continue investing in breakthrough technology and research and development (R&D).
The financing round saw the participation of new investors including Qatar Investment Authority, Bpifrance, through its joint venture Future French Champions, ABC Impact, Grow Forward and IDIA Capital Investissement. The company’s existing investors, Creadev and Temasek, as well as global agribusiness leaders ADM and Cargill also participated in the round.
