On Monday, October 24, the local newspapers focused on an array of issues, with the undertakings of the disbanded Special Service Unit (SSU) under the DCI being under scrutiny.

The newspapers also delved into politics, with President William Ruto and his team wooing Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka into the Kenya Kwanza camp.
The publication reported on the dreaded undertakings of the disbanded Special Service Unit (SSU) that served under the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to The Standard, the unit used a container where victims were tortured before meeting their tragic ends.

Detectives who came up with the revelation spoke to The Standard on an anonymity basis.
They said that the operatives under the SSU would obtain critical information from the victims before dumping their bodies outside the scene.

The said container, initially based at the Nairobi Area Police Station in Milimani, Nairobi county, has since been moved to the DCI headquarters off Kiambu Road, Nairobi.
Four officers are awaiting arraignment after they were apprehended on Friday, October 22, in connection with the missing of two Indians and their Kenyan driver.
Bones and clothes believed to be of the two Indian nationals have been flown to Nairobi as investigations into their disappearance gain momentum.
The daily reported on the efforts by President William Ruto to woo Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka into the Kenya Kwanza administration.
While gracing a thanksgiving service in Kitui county on Sunday, October 23, the president said Kalonzo had rejected a job offer from him.

The publication reported on the death of an officer attached to the DCI.
The agency's lead creative designer Boniface Muganda was killed in a hit-and-run incident.
Muganda met his death on Saturday, October 22, after being hit by a speeding motorist along the northern by-bass at Marurui, near Ashaki club in Nairobi.
In the incident, the deceased, who was attached to the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Unit, was heading home on his motorbike when a speeding motorist hit his bike and took off, leaving the officer sprawled on the tarmac metres away from his bike.
He was, in turn, rushed to Kenyatta University hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Muganda previously served at the forensic photographic and acoustics unit.
