The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has appointed a substantive chief executive to take over from acting CEO Tobias Alando, who had replaced Phyllis Wakiaga following her exit in July.
Anthony Mwangi will start his term on September 15, KAM chairman Rajan Shah said in a statement.
“With over 20 years of work experience, Mr Mwangi brings on board a wealth of expertise in public policy, government relations, stakeholder engagement, communications and business development cutting across the transportation, ICT, aviation, and oil and gas industries,” Mr Shah said.
Mr Mwangi has previously worked at Tullow Oil, Kenya Airways and Bolt in various capacities.
He holds a masters’ degree in Public Policy and Management from Strathmore Business School, a bachelor’s from the University of Nairobi and a Certificate of Public Policy from New York University.
Mr Alando has been appointed the chief operating officer (COO) of the manufacturer’s lobby.
Phyllis Wakiaga served as KAM chief executive for nine years.
