Renowned Tanzanian producer Master J has chided Kenyan musicians after claiming that Diamond Platnumz makes more money from one show than all Kenyan artistes combined.
The producer engaged a Kenyan netizen who had claimed that Tanzanian singers were not making as much money from their craft compared to Kenyan singers.

But Master J responded to the comment rubbishing off the claims.
He said:
There has been debate on how much Kenyan musicians make compared to other foreign artistes, which has seen people like Eric Omondi fight to limit foreign musicians from holding shows in Kenya.
Master J's comment dissing Kenyan artistes has elicited a lot of reactions from social media, who couldn't fathom how he was comparing their currency to the Kenyan shilling.

On Kenyan musicians' pay, CS Ababu Namwamba disclosed his mission is to turn the art industry into a mega sector so that it can create jobs and opportunities.
He also added that he is creating a framework with stakeholders to ensure artistes get their money directly without 'cartels' in the middle.
According to the Youth Affairs, Sports and Arts CS, those who have been living large at the expense of musicians' money have been given the notice to style up.
