Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris is serving her second term after trouncing her main opponent Millicent Omanga in the Tuesday, August 9 General Election.
Passaris was re-elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket after garnering 698,929 votes against Omanga's 586,246 votes.
Before running for office in 2017, the politician was a social entrepreneur and philanthropist.
As an MP, Passaris is entitled to a monthly salary of KSh 710,000 set by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

The salary is inclusive of KSh 426,000 in basic salary, KSh 150,000 in house allowance, and KSh 134,000 in salary market adjustment.
She also takes home committee sitting allowances and mileage claims.
The beautiful woman was born in Mombasa on October 20, 1964, to a Greek father and a Kikuyu mother.

Passaris attended the Aga Khan Academy for her primary and secondary education.
The ODM politician holds a diploma in law from the University of London and a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from the United States International University Africa (USIU).
In December 2006, she pursued an advanced management programme course at the Strathmore Business School.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Passaris owns several businesses.
The politician is the proprietor of Sharper Images Ltd.

She founded the advertising company in 1991.
She wrote:

The Nairobi woman representative is the founder and chairperson of Adopt A Light Limited.
Its website states that its formation in February 2002 was inspired by the need to achieve safer cities through the provision of adequate street lighting.
Through a public-private partnership (PPP) deal, the company signed a deal with Nairobi county authorities to: "Restore decrepit street lighting in exchange for advertising rights on the lamp posts."

The women rights activist launched Mama Ventures Ltd in July 2016.
The company has interests in real estate, imports, and exports sectors.
The Trust owns property in Spring Valley worth KSh 40 million, which rakes in over KSh 250,000 monthly rent.
Daily Nation reported that Passaris was engaged in a tussle to keep the property with billionaire businessman Pius Ngugi, with whom they sired two children.
Ngugi accused the politician of mismanaging the Fund that he helped her establish to cater for their kids.

While appearing before the National Assembly's Committee on Appointments on Monday, October 17, the Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee said his investments range from the real estate industry to the hospitality sector and agriculture, including a camel farm in Garissa.
