Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga has threatened to boycott the oncoming vote if the commission fails to provide for a physical voters register.

Moses Wetang’ula to Sue Raila’s Allies over Ballot Paper Printing Tender Allegations: “Mtajua Hamjui”
The former prime minister insisted that he would not back down on his demand for a physical voter register as a complementary identification mechanism.
The ODM leader also retaliated claims by Junet Mohamed, the Azimio la Umoja secretary-general, that IEBC and Ford Kenya leaders were planning to print extra ballot papers and stuff them with the intent of rigging Deputy President into the state house.

However, during a consultative meeting with the presidential candidates on June 30, Chebukati hinted at the commission using the manual register as a last resort.

The publication highlighted the recent accidents that have occurred on the Nairobi Expressway.
As a measure to curb the accidents that were now becoming rampant, the government sanctioned a temporary ban for the Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) from operating on the high road.
This follows two consecutive accidents involving matatus along the recently launched multi-billion shilling infrastructure.
Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia announced that matatus and PSVs carrying more than seven passengers have been temporarily restricted from using the elevated road.
The CS further explained that the move is meant to give the government more time to look into the cause of accidents on the road and lay out proper safety measures to ensure the PSVs cruise safely on the expressway.

On Monday, July 4, 2022, CCTV footage captured a speeding matatu ramming into the toll station and hitting another private vehicle in front of it.
The daily spared space for the ongoing intrigues of the August 9 polls as the IEBC gets itself at the centre of controversies.

Junet Mohamed: Kenya Kwanza Is Planning to Sneak In Marked Presidential Ballot Papers from Uganda
Junet, a top brass member in Azimio, claimed that Chebukati has been meeting with Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula to deliberate on stealing votes on behalf of the deputy president.

According to Junet, the Greek firm would ship ballot papers to Uganda, mark and later sneak them into Kenya.
Wetabg'ula has since disputed the claims and is now contemplating institution a legal suit against Junet and his backers.
The electoral agency is yet to address the claims.
The Swahili publication reported about Ruto's claims there are leaders in Azimio La Umoja supporting his state house bid.
Speaking in Marsabit county during his series of campaigns, the deputy president alleged that a host of leaders are secretly supporting him but have however resorted to hiding in Azimio for reasons best known to them.
